1. Scope
BarksBook provides SaaS-based services to dog daycare, boarding and related pet care businesses. In some situations, we collect information directly from business users or website visitors. In other situations, we process information on behalf of a BarksBook Business, such as customer, pet, vaccination and booking information.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use BarksBook, we may process:
- Account information such as name, email address, phone number, role and account authentication information.
- Business information such as business name, settings, service catalog, pricing and operational preferences.
- Customer and pet information entered into the platform, including pet profile details, vaccination records, booking history and signed agreements.
- Transaction and payment status information associated with bookings or subscriptions.
- Technical information such as IP address, browser information, device details, session identifiers, timestamps, logs and activity used to secure and operate the Services.
- Information you send through demo, contact or support forms.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and administer BarksBook, authenticate users, process booking and account workflows, deliver communications, support customers, secure the platform, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, improve features and comply with legal obligations.
4. Data processed for BarksBook businesses
When a pet care Business uses BarksBook to manage its customers and pets, the Business determines what information it collects and how that information is used in its operations. BarksBook processes that information as necessary to provide and operate the Services. Questions about a specific Business's use of personal information should generally be directed to that Business.
5. When information is shared
We do not sell personal information to advertisers. We may share information with vendors and service providers that help us host, secure, communicate, process payments or operate the Services, subject to appropriate contractual or operational safeguards. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights or security, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition where legally permitted.
Information may be processed in jurisdictions where BarksBook or its service providers operate, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
6. Payments and third-party integrations
Payment transactions may be handled by third-party payment providers. BarksBook may receive identifiers, payment status and related transaction details needed to connect the payment to a booking or subscription, but payment providers handle payment credentials according to their own terms and privacy policies.
If you enable an app integration, information may be exchanged with that provider based on the integration you authorize. Review the third party’s privacy practices before enabling an integration.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain business and security records, resolve disputes and comply with applicable legal requirements.
Upon expiration, cancellation or termination of a subscription, access to the Services and associated data will end, and BarksBook may delete that data in accordance with our Terms. Limited copies may be retained where reasonably necessary for backups, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance or other legitimate operational purposes.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect account credentials and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.
9. Access, correction and other privacy choices
Account users can update certain information directly through BarksBook. Depending on your location and the nature of the data, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or other treatment of personal information. When BarksBook is processing information for a pet care business, we may direct the request to that business so it can respond as the organization responsible for the data.

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product, legal or operational changes. The date at the top of the policy indicates the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services or another reasonable channel.
